Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail

Today Amie, Nick, Xan and Tasia joined me on a little bike ride. We parked in the little town of Coalville and rode our bikes towards Park City. It was a tough day for Xan. He didn't have much fun. The trail was hardpack dirt, but it had rained recently and there was a lot of mud. It was a challenge for me to ride in the mud, so I'm sure it was a bugger for him.

We started training Tasia to ride in the trailer behind Amie. She did OK. She was a bit skiddish at first, but after she ran for 5 or 6 miles, she warmed up to the idea of kicking back in the trailer.

Nick rode behind me on the detatchable tandem trailer bike we recently purchased. It is a great bike for him. He can peddle when he wants or just coast. He loves it and I get to spend quality time with him chatting while we ride.

We only made it about 5.5 miles on the trail before Xan was done. We had to turn around and head back.

All in all, it was a good day outdoors with the family. It beats sitting on my ass in front of the TV.
